Shelter Island Book Club
Tuesday, June 11th, 4:30 pm
The Shelter Island Book Club, led by Suzanne Louer, reads works of fiction and nonfiction with an emphasis on well-regarded contemporary fiction.
The contrasting lives of the Mitford sisters—stylish, scandalous, and tragic, hold up a mirror to upper-class life before and after the Second World War. As the shadows crept over 1930s Europe, the stark differences in their outlooks came to symbolize the political polarities of a dangerous decade.
This program will take place at the Shelter Island Historical Society.
