The Shelter Island Book Club, led by Suzanne Louer, reads works of fiction and nonfiction with an emphasis on well-regarded contemporary fiction.
The incredible true story of a 63-year-old farmer, Annie Wilkins, who rode across America in the 1950's, fulfilling her dying wish to see the Pacific Ocean. She had no relatives left, she'd lost her family farm to back taxes, and her doctor had given her two years to live - but only if she lived restfully.
