When Roger Ackroyd is found dead in his study right after his fiancée's suicide, retired detective Hercule Poirot takes on the case. With only a few close friends and family present on the day of the murder, most have solid alibis. However, as Poirot digs deeper, he discovers that these alibis start to crumble, unveiling a web of motives and opportunities among the suspects.
